There are two new additions to room 19 for 2015.
The first is the Prison. If a student wants to borrow a pencil, they have to put one of their shoes in the prison. When they return the pencil, they can retrieve their shoe from the prison. Hopefully students will remember to bring their own pencils to class and won't have to surrender their shoe to prison!
The second is the Commonality Chart.
Students meet in partners and find something they have in common. Two of today's examples: "we take karate at the same dojo" and "we like to bake chocolate chip cookies". These findings are recorded on the Commonality Chart. Hopefully by the end of the year, each student would have found something in common with each member of the class!
