Team Challenge

Today's Team Challenge was to disguise a team member as Santa using only newspaper and scissors.
All groups worked extremely well together -
 what creativity, cooperation and teamwork!

Well done everyone!

From the Math Department...

This week we have been working with coordinates on the Cartesian plane by playing games and following a list of ordered pairs to complete the mystery picture.

English Language Arts

In ELA this week, we read about and discussed KINDNESS.
Students then put together a list poem giving the Top Ten Ways to be Kind.

Adopt a Sea Turtle!

Inspired by a Speechtastic speech about sea turtles, 6F1 voted to adopt a sea turtle through the World Wildlife Fund.

If each student contributes 2$, we could easily reach the 55$ fundraising goal!

Mme McKenzie will collect the money and order the adoption kit.

The 12 Days of Giving!

Ecole Golden Gate has the Giving Spirit!
Each day of the 12 Days of Giving has been assigned one or more food items that are designated as the 10 MOST WANTED items by either The Christmas Cheerboard or Winnipeg Harvest.
We added two extra days to include presents and baby needs as they are also important items that are more challenging to get due to their costs.
Your job: To contribute whatever you can!
Each item you bring equals 1 point for your homeroom.
Even though the costs differ, it's doing what you can that counts because it's the act of giving that matters most, not the cost.

So, give what you can! Let's help others in our community!

Day 1 (Dec 2): Canned meat or fish
Day 2 (Dec 3) : 1 L of 100% Fruit Juice
Day 3 (Dec 4): Canned fruits or veggies
Day 4 (Dec 7): Brown Rice or Whole Wheat Pasta
Day 5 (Dec 8): Chili, Beans or Stew
